- The Minister of Leaves
Happy Saturday my dear friends, I hope you're having yourself a great start to the weekend.
It's hot and humid in my neck of the woods today but nevertheless, the morning tea was in order. Just like a cup of morning coffee for a coffee drinker, a cup of morning tea makes the world spinning in the right direction. It's refreshing, calming and very much a way of life.
Today I've reached for one of my samples from Teavivre again: Golden Monkey Black Tea. The leaves are absolutely beautiful. It's a mixture of mature leaves and buds, and buds are the lighter ones in colour. Both buds and leaves are delicate and have claw like appearance.
The leaves look great and smell great too. The moment I opened the sample pack I had a "wow" moment. Most delicious scent of caramel and honey with wood and smoke hit my senses and gave me a good indication of what my taste buds are about to experience.

I steeped about 4 grams of this tea (1.5 teaspoons) in a cup of boiling water for about a minute. Oh, what an aroma! Honey, fruit, maple, earth and so much more. This tea smells amazing but what about the taste?
No surprises there. It's delicious.
From beginning to end this is some great tea. It's everything I would want my black tea to be. It's earthy and sweet with notes of caramel, honey, fruit and molasses. I usually add just a touch of honey to my black teas but this one doesn't need it. It needs nothing. Just to be drank. It's perfect.
Namaste
